EN8 Steel

EN8 also know as 080M40 is an unalloyed medium carbon steel. EN8 is a medium strength steel, good tensile strength. EN8 is a grade of steel that is commonly used in shafts, stressed pins and studs.

EN8 is superior to mild steel in strength, wear resistance and toughness. These properties make EN8 the preferred choice for tasks that cannot be completed using mild steel yet do not justify incurring the additional cost of using an alloyed steel. It is commonly used in engineering applications where parts are not subjected to heavy stress. EN8 is readily machinable and can be welded.

Induction Hardened Chrome

Induction hardening is a form of heat treatment in which a metal part is heated by induction heating and then quenched. The quenched metal undergoes a martensitic transformation, increasing the hardness and brittleness of the part. Induction hardening is used to selectively harden areas of a part or assembly without affecting the properties of the part as a whole

Hardened Chrome Plated Steel Bars or "IHCP" are produced by using advanced techniques on AISI 1045/1050 steel bars, for surface removal, polishing, induction hardening, and then hard chrome plating. The finished product is a superior impact resistant bar ideal for high quality piston rods.
